22 Apr Daily Quote from Rachael Kessler
When soul is present in education, attention shifts. As the quality of attention shifts, we listen with great care not only to what people say but to the messages between the words—tones, gestures, the flicker of feelings across the face. And then we concentrate on what has heart and meaning.

Today’s Practice:
Soulful skills are skills we use to explore our inner nature. They allow us to look at what is in our heart, to celebrate what we find there, and to express our life purpose through action. We can refine the soulful skills of our children by integrating the practices of kindness and compassionate decision-making as critical components of daily home life.
Some soulful skills we can incorporate into our daily schedule include:
- Poetry writing
- Doing visual art (painting and drawing)
- Photography
- Storytelling
- Reading stories and talking about them
- Playing music
- Conversations about gratitude and generosity expressed to others
You can share these if you wish through texting, phone calls, and email.
