04 Jun Daily Practice Inspired by Anne Marie Douglas
The relationship is the intervention.
- Anne Marie Douglas
Today’s Practice:
Healthy relationships are healing relationships; healing creates happiness, optimism, and hope – the conditions for resilience. Most young people who are struggling to find their place of belonging will find that place if we provide the time, space, and love that they deserve. By creating the conditions for emotional safety, we are providing the psychic architecture for a mentally healthy person. If a young person can envision how happy life can be through the cultivation of healthy relationships with self and others, that is what is referred to as social and emotional well-being.
Make this question a daily muse:
How can I make our home emotionally safe where healthy relationships are paramount?
By ritualizing this question for yourself, the answers will begin to flow.
